Duplicate Order Warning

Perhaps this feature already exists; if so, please tell me!

Most of my customers purchase one item. Indeed, it's a rare person who needs two Klein bottles!
However, sometimes a customer will add an item to her Foxycart shopping cart, and then add it a second time.
Is there a way to give a minor warning to someone who's ordering more than one item?

Related issue: Sometimes a customer will place the same order twice, within a couple minutes.
Likely, this is due to a goof-up (she didn't realize the first order went through)
Is there a way to give a minor warning that sez, "You placed a similar order just a couple minutes ago. Are you sure you want to go ahead?"

Thanx! -Cliff

    @CliffS,

    You could certainly add in a custom message to just above the confirm button as a sort of confirmation "You currently have 2 Klein bottles - if you only wanted 1, you can change the quantity above" or something like that. Would that work?

    This is achievable - but would be quite an advanced custom integration - it would require making a request from the checkout to your own website with the customers email - then making an API request to look for any recent transactions to then inform the checkout whether the alert should be placed or not.

    Does this happen for your store often? Maybe you could also look at making the receipt clearer that their transaction was successful. If customers aren't clear after viewing the receipt and getting an email receipt that it wasn't successful - perhaps some clearer messaging on the receipt page could help.
