How to use openexchangerates to feed the price value field?

Hi, i am a subscriber of openexchangerates, i use it to show exchange rates on my site, i would like to use thoses rates to set prices for the items i will sell using foxycart.

I want to sell cryptocurrency, so i need to get the rates updated every minute, thats why i need to use openexchangerates.

Is this possible?

Thank you

That is indeed possible - FoxyCart doesn't control your add to cart pages, so you can use whatever set up you need to set the prices for your products. Whether that's a hard-coded value, a value pulled from your CMS, or a dynamic value from a third-party provider, it will ultimately come down to what your website set up can support, and what you're able to build!

Once the product has been added to the cart though - the product's price will then be set. If you need to have customers complete their checkout within a short period of time to ensure their purchases use an up to date value, you can set an expires attribute on the product, setting how long it's able to be in the cart for. That can be either a number in minutes, or an epoch timestamp (based on US PST timezone). Details on that can be seen here:
  • Thank you, i have set the expires setting, not sure if i can build that though, do you have tech partners who could help me on this?
