User entered "Other" value not being added in subtotal

My test site is: and all of our fundraising campaigns give the donors the option to enter any amount they'd like. When I click the Add to Cart button, this entered amount is not then subtotaled in the cart.

I followed the setup steps here: and the only thing I didn't follow was to check the boxes for forced checkout and to empty the cart -- I want them to be able to donate to more than one campaign if they so choose.

Two other, maybe quick and less critical, questions, if I may add them here:
How can I change the Add to Cart button color?
Can I change the Products page name to Current Needs?

Thanks for your help!

    Hi @adorersisters -

    I'm not sure if something's changed since that article, but my experience has been that the variation name for the "Donation Amount" variation needs to be "price" (with a lower case "p"). That's how FoxyCart knows to interpret that option as a price. Can you try that and see if that gets things working for you?

    To change the "Add to Cart" button color, you can add CSS to your theme to override FoxyShop's default colors. In WordPress, you'll go to Appearance->Edit CSS and copy these styles into the text box.

    .foxyshop_button {
    background-color: #d65050;
    border-color: #d65050;

    .foxyshop_button:hover {
    background-color: #d65050;
    border-color: #d65050;

    The styles above make everything the same color-you'll want to change the #d65050 to the desired colors. If the cursor is hovering over the button, the .foxyshop_button:hover will determine the background color. If you want the color to change, you can change the hover style to a different color. Let us know if you need additional help changing the color.

    You can change the title bar under FoxyShop->settings->Browser title bar settings. You can change the product slug by using the instructions here:
    That requires you to access wp-config.php file. If you haven't done that before, you can search that up. I found this article that may be helpful:

  • Hi @fc_marija,

    I changed the variation to "price" but it wouldn't let me save it - giving an error message saying the variation can't be named "price." Also, I copied here screenshots of the error and how it's set up:

    I renamed the variation back to Donation Amount as listed in the donationghandi site.

    Please help with another suggestion.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi @adorersisters -

    My apologies, I should have told you to ignore that warning. We made that change and set the Label of the field for you. If you want to change the label for that variation, you can just make the change on the variation that's named Donation{price}. Just change "Donation" to whatever you want and leave {price} as it is.

    We'll update that doc for setting up the donation for future users. It was for an older version of FoxyCart/WordPress/FoxyShop.

    Josh mentioned that you want to hide the code product option from the cart. To do this, you can go into your FoxyCart configuration under "Customize Cart Display" and remove the checkbox for "Show Product Code". A link to that area is here (you may have to log in):
