Webflow HTML Embed Button

zanguinezanguine Member
Hello Foxy friends -

I'm not quite getting how the Button element and the HTML embed work together to make the product button which adds the product to the cart. There is some magic about the class name of the button and the embed being the same, but I haven't figured out the relationship.

Thanks!

    Hi @zanguine.
Thank you for getting in touch. Foxy is magical, but there's not too much magic happening with the purchase buttons. :-) It's really just a matter of passing in at minimum the name and price of the product. I'll message you with some questions about you setup.

    Thanks,
    Josh

I skipped the building out of all the stuff in the tutorial. This site is just for me to figure out the Foxy integration before I convert a client's site from Webflow eCommerce to Foxy. We need downloadable products.

    Hi @zanguine.
Thank you for confirming. The issue for both your purchase and view cart links is that you're using the wrong store subdomain. In your links, replace "foxy-foxy" with your subdomain (found in your Store Settings here: https://admin.foxycart.com/admin.php?ThisAction=EditStore)

Also, be sure to add the Foxy loader.js snippet to your project's custom footer. It can be found in Step 1 on your Sample Code page here: https://admin.foxycart.com/admin.php?ThisAction=SampleCode

For digital products, you'll need to first upload them to Foxy or a third-party service. More info can be found here: https://wiki.foxycart.com/v/2.0/products/downloadables

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions. You can email us at hello@foxycart.com.

    Thanks,
    Josh

Thanks, Josh. I'll make these changes and how far I get.

    Josh,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I'm using "foxy-foxy.foxycart.com" in my links, which is the subdomain in Store Details. Also, I have already added the custom code to both places where it needs to go.

    Thank you,
    Scott

    Hi @zanguine -

It looks like the foxy-foxy domain is ok to use there.

It looks like you're setting foxy categories for these products that aren't set up in the Foxy admin. I'm seeing that random mp3 is working and is assigned to the downloadable category. You'll either need to assign the others to the downloadable category or create your categories here: https://admin.foxycart.com/admin.php?ThisAction=ManageProductCategories

I'm not actually seeing the custom code on the product page. Perhaps you could temporarily add it to Pages->Product Template. The docs note that custom code is only available on paid plans, so if you're not on a paid plan, that could be causing issues. If you want to whisper a screenshot of the code on your project settings, that might be helpful in figuring out the issue.
