order confirmation

i'm not getting it.
1. is it possible to send customized and automated order confirmations to my customer?
2. can i attach the receipt as pdf?

    We do support native email receipts for customer purchases. This is managed from the "email receipt" section of the administration, and as long as an email subject is set, we'll send out a receipt for every successful purchase. You can also customise the email receipt template there if you need.
    2. can i attach the receipt as pdf?
    We don't currently support attaching the receipt as a PDF. It's something we're considering for the future though.

    okay thank you. i watched this section and a couple of questions.
    what kind of content should be linked in the "email template url"?
    i'm not getting it; should i write it somewehre else in html and than link it or can i design it im mailchimp and than link it somehow? i mean if the integration with mailchimp is possible, why not just using their UI to design and customize these templates?!

    Hi @danyalxy -

    If your customizations are simple, you may just need to upload your logo, change some labels, customize your CSS, etc, rather than creating the email template from scratch. Have you seen the default receipt? There's a screenshot on this page: https://wiki.foxycart.com/v/2.0/emails

    You can see some easy changes to make to the receipt here: https://wiki.foxycart.com/v/2.0/emails#default_templates_and_customizations

    If you need to create a fully customized email receipt, you can cache a document from a URL, as you mentioned above. We'll convert the document to the format needed, but you can use html as mentioned in the previous paragraph's link.

    You can use whatever tool you like to create the receipt, but you'll want to incorporate our twig placeholders into the document. In any case, in order to cache the template, yes, you'd create it somewhere else, put it up so it's accessible online, then cache the template into the Foxy admin using your html template URL (assuming your receipt will be in html, and not use the text option ― you can create a template for each).

    It can get a bit tricky if you're not a coder, which is why I suggest instead making easy changes to the receipt as a first course of action.

    okay and is it possible to change the "from" email (i.e. the sender) to a customized email account that i'm hosting somewhere else?
