Anyone actually using Quantum Gateway?

I'm setting up a store for an independent recording artist who wants to sell his MP3's for 99¢ each. I sent him to Quantum Gateway to sign up for an account and he says that although he just glanced over the contract, he saw a 35¢ per ITEM fee and a 35¢ per transaction fee that seemed to be in addition to the $10 monthly charge.

Is this the case? If so, it hardly makes sense for him to sell 99¢ downloads...

PayPal Payments Pro is could be slightly cheaper, but with a higher monthly cost regardless of whether he sells anything or not...

Is there an ETA on the PayPal Payments Standard?

Just looked over the contract and it does indeed say "per item", though I don't think it's what you're thinking. Let me confirm with them...

Ok, just got off the phone with them and the "per item" is really "per transaction". It's a different "item".

If it helps, we're actually moving ourselves over to CDG. We've been extremely pleased with their customer service so far, and their rates are pretty amazing as well.
