That's absolutely hot, sheeley. How's it working out for you?
  • It's pretty nice. Unfortunately, you can't add orders straight into SF, so it turns into a lead, but it's much faster than the manual entry that had been going on previously.

One thing I didn't realize, and I don't know if it is mentioned, is the way the data feed will include every order. I had assumed that it would only affect orders after the feed is set to active, so we got quite a few more leads entered than I had expected.

It is rather nice, though, and I set the feed url to include a different source for each store, so I can use the same code but differentiate where orders are coming from. Woo!

    Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about integrating this into a future project. Quick question - where would the script live and how would it be called? I'm using modx, so I'm guessing it would be a snippet that gets executed upon checkout. I'm just trying to figure out exactly how that would work.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

This is a script that would live on your server as a .php file and is communicated to by FoxyCart using the XML Datafeed (http://wiki.foxycart.com/static/redirect/xml_datafeed). So basically you'd copy that code, paste it into a new file, edit the strings around the middle of the file under "// Foxy Stuff", and save it as a .php file. You'll also need to turn on the datafeed, grab the datafeed key from the 'Advanced' section of the admin. Then upload the script to your server and set the datafeed to send to that URL in the admin.

    Does that make sense?

Perfect sense. Thanks so much adam!
