Shipping Question

I'm getting an error in the checkout process.
Here is the shop

When I get to the end, after I enter my zip, I get the following error:

Error: This store has not been setup correctly to calculate shipping to this location. We apologize for the inconvenience. The store owner has been notified of this error.

But, I have set up shipping:

and my default category shipping:

What else am I leaving out?

    Not positive what "standard" is doing there, but if you add another option (like ground) it will work fine. We'll take a look at what "standard" actually should be returning, and why it's not working. Sorry about that.

    Thanks for posting Brad. One thing you might try... go to and try the same shipment rate request using your store setup as the "from" and the customer info as the "to" and see if "standard" is available for those locations. If it's not, then the message you're seeing is accurate and I would add more shipping options for your store.

    Please let us know if it's a problem with our UPS setup or if it's something else. Also, you should probably change your store from address to a valid email account since your bounce messages are bouncing back.

    FWIW, I am getting the same error. I did some testing and here's what I found:

    I only ship via USPS. If I enable First Class Mail and a second option (e.g., Parcel Post) the only option that shows up on the checkout form is the second option. If I enable only First Class Mail I get the error. So it appears First Class Mail simply doesn't "take" as a shipping option.

    We ran some tests and it looks like first class mail only shows up for the "letter" package type:

    First Class is probably just not a valid option for the package type you selected.

    There's definitely room for improvement in the shipping section of our admin, but until then, I'd err on the side of selecting more shipping options rather than fewer.
  • I'm experiencing the same issue--but apparently only with people trying to make purchases from the UK. I only use USPS, and I use Priority International and Express International. Any country other than the UK works. For example, I can enter in a legitimate UK address, and I get the same error mentioned above. Then I can keep the same address, but change the country to France and it works properly. I checked the link above ( and my setting should be valid (a "regular package" shipped priority mail to the UK)

    JRasmussen, could you whisper me the exact addresses you're trying to ship from and to? Your from address would be in your store settings, the to address is what the customer fills out on the checkout screen.

    JRasmussen, thanks for the details. Russia and the UK should both work now. Please let us know if you run into any other USPS country names that are not standard.

    If only USPS would use ISO codes we could avoid all this...
