How to get #fc_minicart to show at all times?

Per this page in the wiki:

It indicates that if the minicart has no products, it will vanish. However, I'd like it to stay visible at all times, even if the cart reads zero. I'm trying to accomplish this via javascript on my end, but it doesn't appear to be working. Can you please indicate if there's a way to show this at all times?

If you're just looking to do a basic, static cart that is always around, take a look at this page:

That might be more of what you're looking for.
  • Hey Luke...

That page could use some help. You say "we provide a JSON cart object..." but you never indicate in which scope the cart object resides, nor how to access it. Should it just "be there"? What if the user hasn't added an item to their cart? This looks useful, but without a greater context it's not helpful now.
  • Just FYI, I used the basic cart include and that worked perfectly. I didn't care that it was the mini-cart, I just wanted to show the quantity and price at all times.

You can view the JSON object if you do a view source on the cart page itself, or if you use Firebug to view the response from the foxycart_includes.js file. Yes, that page in the documentation could use some help. We're currently revamping ALL the docs, so we'll provide some better examples with that revamp.
