Unable to Create a New Category

Hi, I am setting up a new store, and I am unable to create a new category (Downloadable Products) in the Categories section.

in the select a category section the only pulldown item is "Default for all products".

so there is no "Add New" and no way for me to create a new category.

    Can you include a screenshot? What store is this for and what store version are you on? What browser (and version) are you using?
  • Yes, here is what i see — i'm unable to create a new category still:

    I'm on a Mac running SL 10.6.3 and using Safari 4.0.5 (6531.22.7).

    I think it's because you haven't actually saved your default first. It's not entirely clear, but your store isn't configured:

    The way you create new categories is by copying existing categories (at least, that's the logic behind the scenes). So if you don't have a category at all, you can't create a new one. Try saving your default category first, then you should get the option to create a new category in that top select box. If not, let us know and we'll take another look. But that should get things sorted out for you.
