I have a multilanguage site and i need different checkout languages.

How can i let my users choose a language of Foxycart forms, or how to hardcode a language into form?

Thanks

    In your FoxyCart admin you can edit the language, but currently there's only 1 set of language strings per store. What you're after is a feature request here:
    http://requests.foxycart.com/forums/4162-general-requests/suggestions/38758-multi-lingual-sites-template-sets-?ref=title

    In the meantime, the two options people have taken are:
    1) Create multiple FoxyCart stores and keep track that way (using a cookie or subdomains).
    2) Add something like <span class="lang_en">My English Text</span><span class="lang_es">Mi texto espa
  • Brett, if we solve the problem using option #1, then can I assume that the SSO feature will allow the customer to sign in through any of the store fronts?

    Thanks,
    Neal

    For what it's worth (in case anybody stumbles on this thread through searching), as of v1.0+ there are better ways to do multilingual. It's kind of an "undocumented" type of feature in v1.0 though so whisper us for details.

    @brett - Can I get more info on how to use multiple languages(English and French) per store which is supported via Twig. My requirement is to set up a single store and use it for English and french version. Can you walk me through it. Thanks.

    Can you tell me what's the equivalent of "continue - for loop" in twig ?

    @Anita,

    Good question - Twig doesn't have a 'break' or 'continue' set up, but you can take a slightly different approach - see the 'Adding a condition' section on this page: http://twig.sensiolabs.org/doc/tags/for.html
  • @brett - Could I also get more info on how to use multiple languages with FoxyCart? (my site is English and French).

    Thanks!

    Question for french site: What's the best way to replace this image in french version.

    Image url: https://cdn.foxycart.com/static/v/1.0.0/images/cvv2.png?ver=1

    Also, Is there a way I can change my shipping options to french using json object ? My site defualt language is English and I am converting text using twig variables.

    What's the best way to change the Shipping options ?

    @Anita,

    Your best bet to change the returned shipping rates would be to use javascript and alter the language strings after they've retruned, unfortunately there isn't an easier way there.

    In terms of the image, if you recreate a french version of that, you could use javascript to update the URL defined on that question mark link, to instead link to your version of the image instead of ours. You'll need to link to your image through the cache url - which you can see more information about on our wiki here: http://wiki.foxycart.com/static/redirect/templates - relating to caching assets manually.
