International Shipping Options -- From Japan to the World

Is there any way to add additional shipping rate databases? My service is located in Japan, and I'll be using Japan Post in addition to Japan Post EMS services for the bulk of my shipping needs. Unfortunately, these services are not linked as of yet in the foxycart shipping options. Can I enter in the Japan Post rates on my own somehow?

Also, all my transactions are going to be handled in Japanese yen. When dealing in yen, there are no decimal points involved. Is there a way to get rid of the .00 at the end of all my entered values?

We don't currently support any other shipping services besides what we have listed on our site. Until we have some Japanese developers, it may be a while before we integrate with Japan Post or Japan Post EMS. Do they have an english php-based api? If so, you could go ahead and vote for that feature here: http://wiki.foxycart.com/feature_requests

As for formatting Yen correctly, that will be in the next release. In the mean time, you might be able to use some JQuery to monitor the fields and remove the decimal points whenever the field is updated.

Fortunately, they just recently launched a php-based shipping calculator api. I'll head over to that thread and vote for it. I'll put it here just in case you'd like to take a look (and maybe put in a good word with the team!)

It's currently not mission-critical that I am linked up to Japan Post, but in the future I will probably need to have an integrated solution. The amount of shipments I'll be sending from the get-go are probably not going to be overwhelming, so I'll just handle the shipping costs manually with each payment for the time being.
