Setting up an item that splits payments

Hey there.
I have a website that sells bags and we have just finished doing a collaborative piece with another designer. We need to have payment split between our bank account and the other party involved. How would we go about doing this? This is the only item on our shop that we need to split payment with them. Do we need to reach out to our payment gateway to figure that out, or is it possible to set up an item on foxcart to speed up the process.

Currently FoxyCart does not allow you to split the payment between two different sources. The simplest approach would be to take all of the payment yourself and then daily/weekly/monthly etc you would transfer the required percentage of the payments to the other party.

Another option you may want to consider (especially if this becomes a regular business need), is to setup an affiliate system such as iDevAffiliate and track "affiliates" and affiliate payments that way. When someone buys a specific product, you can credit that affiliate payment with the purchase and handle money distribution via PayPal that way.
