Prevent fake add to cart links

How does FoxyCart prevent fake add to cart links? Anyone with a little understanding of websites can recognize the pattern of text links that add items to cart and just put in their own price. What prevents this?

    @sccr410,

    For what it's worth, in all the years that FoxyCart has been running, there has only actually been a couple confirmed reports of this happening.

    That said though, we have implemented a feature called HMAC Validation that allows you to encrpyt your add to cart forms in such a way that they can't be openly tampered with. For notes on how to set that up, see this page: http://wiki.foxycart.com/static/redirect/price_validation
