Suspend Account

I was just needing to clarify something I read on another post where someone needed to temporarily disable an account. One of the sites I've set up with FoxyCart is primarily a seasonal eCommerce store (Christmas, really, http://christmasgiftcpc.com). The client wants to know if we can temporarily disable the store, thus saving the $19/month. Then re-enable the store around October or so.

Is this possible without having to start from scratch in terms of billing, account settings, etc for FoxyCart?

Thanks,
LEF

    Hey LEF. Technically, I think our terms of service mention something about a fee to re-activate a subscription, but I don't think we've been enforcing that (see http://www.foxycart.com/terms-of-service.html). Right now, there's no guaranteed that your cancelled store won't be completely deleted (though we would notify you before doing so). We'll talk it over internally and get back to you.
  • I realize this post is a bit old, but I have encountered the same question. I hope to build a store for a local small farm. They will only be selling during harvest months, and then close for the winter. Is there an option to suspend a store for a number of months, but not close it completely? I know at this writing Shopify offers a "pause" function that is half the cost of their regular monthly fee.

    @Lucyl,

    Ultimately the advice that @luke provided earlier is as it still stands. We don't have a switch to flick, but you could cancel your stores subscription which would put it back into development mode. When you want to start accepting orders again, you would create a live subscription again.
