Using a coupon code with a "future subscription"

I currently have a subscription that bills customers on either the 15th or the 1st of the month (depending on which one is closer). As a result, the "future subscription" line displays in the cart, since the customer essentially pays $0 on the date of purchase. I want to be able to add a coupon (for example: 5% off) that will apply to each subsequent payment of the subscription, and not just the first date--especially since 5% off on the first date is meaningless when you're already paying $0. Is there a way to add a coupon that will apply to each payment in a future subscription?

@cboot, if the coupon has unlimited uses and no end date, it will be applied to every time the subscription is run again if it is added to the original transaction.
