Hi

Need to add a custom field in the cart description, looked through the docs and don't see an example

Currently product set up Automatic HMAC

<form action="https://OURSHOP.foxycart.com/cart"; method="post" accept-charset="utf-8">
<input type="hidden" name="name" value="Strawberry Soak Off" />
<input type="hidden" name="price" value="18.90" />
<input type="hidden" name="code" value="GelPot23" />
<input type="hidden" name="category" value="gel_pots" />
<div class="quant">
<select name="quantity">
<option value="1">1</option>
<option value="2">2</option>
<option value="3">3</option>
<option value="4">4</option>
<option value="5">5</option>
<option value="6">6</option>
<option value="7">7</option>
<option value="8">8</option>
<option value="9">9</option>
<option value="10">10</option>
</select>
<input id="searchSubmit" type="submit" value="add to cart" class="bay" />
</div><!-- .sort -->
</form>

In the Cart this will display

Strawberry Soak Off
Code: GelPot23
Category: gel_pots

We would like to add a custom message in the cart - like

Strawberry Soak Off
Code: GelPot23
Category: gel_pots
Special: Free Training

So we have added this to the field

<input type="hidden" name="special" value="Free Training" />

It displays fine, just want to insure that this will not mess with any validation

Thanks

John

    @Johnny4B,

    If you have automatic hashing, it should hash your extra input just like any other input. If it's adding to the cart as you'd expect, then it's working just fine.
