How to verify someones identity

I have a client who runs a managed hosting service and wants to start collecting payments online. Right now they just take someone's credit card over the phone and they check to make sure that the person is who they say they are.

They want to verify the credit card against the identity, which they can't do through foxy since they wont be able to see the cc numbers. Is there a way to do this? automatically?

    @mreee,

    Some of our supported gateways support 3D secure - which would add an additional layer of authentication to the transaction. We also have support for minfraud which could help as well, which you can see information on here: https://wiki.foxycart.com/v/1.1/minfraud Also worth noting is that some of the gateways also have other fraud prevention services that you can enable on the gateway side, which we recommend.

    As for actually confirming that the person who is physically entering the payment details is the person they say that they actually are, we don't really have anything that can tell that. You'd need to speak them in person to confirm that.
