Multiple Gateway Option

- still struggling with this problem.

We have a conversion rate problem - one way around it is to use 2 separate MIDs - one for Amex and another for MC/Visa. Would this be possible with some custom programming?

Another alternative is to ask the customer at checkout which card they want to use and them process Amex offline or optionally add a surcharge.

    Currently it's not possible to have two credit card gateways within a single store. It's definitely something we're planning for in the future, but currently not possible.

    The only way you could do it is to process it offline via phone or something - and repurpose the offline processing option as a way for a customer to show that they want to pay with amex.

    Is there a way to make it so if they choose Amex - we can process the card offline

    Then with MC/Visa - it works with processor as normally

    If there is a programmer you can put me in touch with that could accomplish this?

    So just to be clear - to process the card offline you would need to actually call the customer to get their payment details over the phone. We don't support offline processing of credit cards in a way that you capture the customers credit card from the checkout and process it that way.

  • thanks - was not able to locate that snippet, another idea would be to modify the PO option to have an Amex logo.

    The idea would be to let only Amex customers to submit their order then followup with a call. Then send an auto email to them as well.

    Ah, lame - I'm sorry. I got confused with the snippets to hide the purchase order if it's the only option present for repurposing it for a different payment type.

    What you've suggested there is basically what you'd do. You will want to hide the purchase order text input though, and pre-fill it with some text that relates, maybe something like "We will contact you to process your Amex card offline" or something like that. That way when the customer hits the receipt, they'll see that you'll be contacting them. You can also change the label for the PO option under 'language' in your stores admin.

    @erikzett,

    You could do it with CSS - setting the amex logo as a background image for the label. Or you could edit the twig template to directly edit the Purchase Order option, or you could set a secure image link within the languages section of the admin.
