It's definitely possible. Do you have any other requirements? Database or plain-text file based storage? Server programming language (PHP?)? Just customer name and quantity, per product? Who should have access and who shouldn't?

Also, how much programming experience do you have?
  • hi brett. i have minimal programming experience. all we need to print nightly is customer name / product / quantity. anyone who can log into our foxycart account can have access.
  • also, any chance foxycart works with plugnpay?
  • do you have a webpage or wireframe of what you're looking for.

We don't currently support PlugNPay. Please vote for it here: http://requests.foxycart.com/pages/payment_gateways

Our list of supported gateways can be found here: http://www.foxycart.com/features-of-web-20-seo-ecommerce.html
  • hi guys. i don't have a webpage or wireframe example - i just need to be able to pull up the quantity sold of a given item and then have the option of printing a list of that info for each item : item / quantity / customer name

I think everybody's dancing around the request because it's really not tricky at all, but it sounds like it would be ;)

I'm trying to see if some of our "favorite" FC users would be willing to throw something together real quick.

I'm assuming a plain text file would be fine? Comma separated or tab delimited so you could open in Excel easily? Or would an HTML table be better for easy on-screen viewing and printing?
  • hi brett. ideally both but i think the html option is fine as long is it's printable. the system we use now has a real time on screen report and then we can also download and print nightly as well.

We're having a discussion behind the scenes, but we'll update this thread shortly.

@waterintowine: If you have even basic PHP skills you should be able to modify this script quite easily:

It's already set up to write to CSV and create a file on the server. All that'd need to be done is change it to write new files based on product code rather than date... and maybe change what gets written.

Sorry for the delay. I'll get back to you after the holidays.
  • Hey waterintowine and everybody else,

How's the development on this one going? Like Brett said it shouldn't be too hard to make, what CMS are you currently using? :)

hi mallmus. we're using expression engine. but the way it's laid out we just need foxycart to generate the url for the item that we can paste into a field for our "buy it now" button.

Hey waterintowine: Are we ok with assuming PHP5 on your end? I hope so, because that's how I'm building I built it ;)

  • awesome. i will try this asap. looks like it's what we needed - thanks guys!
  • looks we are running PHP 4.3.11 currently - will the script still work?

    thanks.

    Ugh. No.
PHP5 has built in XML processing. It certainly could be tweaked to work with a PHP4 XML processor (like some of the other scripts on the wiki)... I don't suppose you know enough to do that?

Any chance your host could upgrade you to PHP5? It's got a lot of very cool stuff.
